We just love ice cream!

We started renting the shop when it was called Carols shop 13 years ago when I was still working part time as a senior sister in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary hospital. We started with a freezer selling 6 different flavours. It was a big learning curve but I enjoyed serving and bring joy to people, after 24 years of dealing with the difficult times in peoples lives. I left nursing in 2016 and went full speed with the shop.

In 2022 we bought the shop from Carol and rebranded to LJ's.

L is for Lamond ( my maiden name) J is for Jones ( my married name ).

The happy place - because it is in the village I am at my most happy.

We have grown quite the following and now sell 26 different types of ice cream and sorbet, including vegan ice cream. I saw a company from kirkcaldy who had made their own waffle machines. We were one of the first to have them and now serve waffles to order. (They are now a massive business who exports worldwide).

We started using Porelli ice cream and have stayed with them ever since. We have found that they have the creamiest and most delicious ice cream. We also love the way that the business is still family run, based in paisley and I love the rapport that I have with them.

People travel really far to have our ice cream.
